Community Care East York opened its doors in the spring of 1985 with a strong commitment to the older adults and people with disabilities in the East York community to provide responsive, flexible and integrated home support services, as well as programs that promote wellness and quality of life.

Community Centre 55

Community Centre 55 is a facilitating organization that helps people help themselves. They assist the handicapped, the elderly, the homeless, the poor, the hungry at Christmas and they provide a variety of programs and services for all ages. These programs include; Cooperative Nursery School, After School Care Program, Summer Day Camp, Anonymous Groups for those suffering from substance abuse, S.A.F.E. (Streets Are For Everyone), St. John Ambulance, The Down Syndrome Association of Metropolitan Toronto and Share A Christmas Food and Toy Distribution Program to name a few.
